the real reason is he wouldnt know what to do with the other strings if he had them. his knuckle dragging style of "music" can work as well with just 2 strings. even 4 for him is overkill

Tbh this is actually routinely done, as is just taping off unused strings. I did it recently during recording some rhythm riffs because I wanted a cleaner take and didn't need the top two strings making noise. They arent used at all during those parts.

His pinky would be causing a bunch of extra noise in his playing so it's probably for the best anyway. Speaking from personal experience I have to say his technique just isn't that great
